1950s

Municipal Airport Location

In August of 1957, the Travelers’ Aid Society began offering its services to flying passengers at a booth in the Salt Lake City Airport. ‘As the defense program moves forward and people – civilian and military – begin crowding railroad depots, bus terminals and airports, the Travelers Aid Society steps in. Travelers Aid Society, always a willing servant, is playing in important role in the defense effort. The nation’s transportation facilities are being called upon to serve not only civilians “on the move,” but the millions of men and women in the armed forces and the defense workers.’
