FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes, we accept any of these new or gently used at any of our resource centers, 7 days a week, between 8:00am – 7:00pm.

  • Midvale Family Center  (529 West 9th Avenue, about 7300 South):  Please deliver to the warehouse on the West side of the main entrance to the building. Feel free to load items into an empty cart or ask our staff for assistance.
  • South Salt Lake Men’s Resource Center  (3380 South 1000 West):   Turn right at the first entrance near the black Parking Lot Exit Gate, pull into a parking space and honk your horn. The warehouse staff will help you from there.
  • Gail Miller Resource Center  (242 Paramount Ave. Salt Lake City):  Pull up to the gate, click the call button on the black box and state that you have a donation. Pull through until you see a receiving bay with a garage door.

No, each resource center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Guests are able to remain inside all day if they choose, however many guests leave to go to work, search for employment, school, and other errands/appointments

There are many ways to help The Road Home and the people we serve. Three main ways are:

  • Give Monetarily–We accept monetary donations that go directly to benefit the people we serve by ensuring we have programs and services, to help people overcome homelessness and move home. Click here to make a monetary donation.
  • Give Needed Items-We accept new and gently used items such as clothing, baby items, and more. These needed items go to the people we serve while in shelter and working towards moving home. Click here to see our needs list.
  • Volunteer–We rely on volunteers to help serve meals in the Gail Miller Resource Center and Men’s Resource center, provide sack lunches and boxed dinners, sort donations in our warehouse, and more. Click here to see all of our available volunteer opportunities.

In the resource centers, people can access vital services such as beds, showers, meals, laundry, donated clothing, and support to return to a place they can call home. There source center model offers a rich array of onsite services and connections to resources. Case managers help clients connect with job training and development, public benefits, substance use treatment, mental health assessment and treatment, childcare services, housing assistance, and more.
