Founded in 1923, The Salt Lake chapter of the National Travelers’ Aid Societies was founded at the City’s principal transportation station to help stranded travelers reach their final destinations, with a particular focus on aiding girls, elderly people, and children.
In 1926 alone, Travelers’ Aid helped over 4,000 individuals, including men, women, and families immigrating to the United States. Some needed help finding their next train, reconnecting with lost family members, navigating language barriers, and much more.
