Volunteering is a great way to help those who are in need, meet new and amazing people, and have fun!

Please email [email protected] with any questions.

Group Volunteer Options

We kindly ask all groups to:

  • Confirm with our Volunteer Coordinators the week before each activity.
  • Let our Volunteer Coordinators know if you would like to be added to a cancellation list, in case a last-minute activity slot becomes available.

Sack Lunches

Midvale Family Resource Center

Sack Lunches

Make sack lunches for preschool children staying at the Midvale Family Resource Center. Please check the current number of lunches requested on your service days prior to purchasing food.  Due to security and confidentiality concerns, groups will not be allowed to distribute the lunches to the children. We distribute first to the pre-school age children, and then to the older family members. For detailed guidelines, please see the Health Department’s Food Safety Guide.

Adult To-Go Meals

Pamela Atkinson Resource Center

Adult To-Go Meals

Make to-go meals for the single men at the Pamela Atkinson Resource Center (PARC). Many of the individuals staying at the PARC may be away from the facility during meal times for a variety of reasons – employment, doctor’s appointments, job interviews, housing applications or inspections, etc. – and your generosity helps us to ensure that everyone has a chance to eat.

We do not have any dietary restrictions. 30-50 meals are appreciated, and we can take up to 100. For more detailed guidelines on preparing to-go meals please see the Health Department’s Food Safety Guide.

  • Plan on 20-30 children ages 5-12
Prepare & Serve Dinner to Families

Midvale Family Resource Center

Prepare & Serve Dinner to Families

When providing shelter dinners, we kindly ask groups to provide all of the food and paper products needed for your particular dinner. We ask that the food be pre-made and brought to the shelter ready to serve.

  • Please plan on serving approximately 200 individuals. We ask groups to arrive at shelter at 5:00pm to set up and ready to serve by 6:00pm. We have availability on Thursdays and do not offer dinners on the weekends.

The Health Department is no longer requiring permits; however, they are strongly recommending that all food be prepared in a non-residential kitchen. For more detailed guidelines on preparing meals for our families and individuals please see the Health Department’s Food Safety Guide.

Court-Ordered Volunteering

Midvale Family Resource Center | Pamela Atkinson Resource Center | Gail Miller Resource Center

Court-Ordered Volunteering

The Road Home will accommodate court-ordered volunteer hours on a case by case basis. A few policies to keep in mind that may prevent you from completing or continuing your service hours:

-If you regularly cancel shifts you may no longer be able to volunteer.
-If you no call/no show you may no longer be able to volunteer.
-A Volunteer Coordinator must supervise and sign off on hours.
-You need to schedule during approved times.
-Masks are required regardless of vaccination status. If you do not have a mask or are not wearing your mask properly, you may be asked to leave.
-For everyone’s health and safety we ask that you cancel your shift if you are sick. Volunteers who are visibly unwell will be asked to leave.
-Available volunteer opportunities will be dependent on current needs and Volunteer Coordinator Schedules. Make sure you are signing up to volunteer during approved shifts, otherwise, your hours will not count.
-If you miss 2 or more shifts without providing notice prior to the shifts, your approval may be revoked. If you need to cancel a shift at the last minute due to illness or an emergency, it is best to send an email so that there is written documentation.

Please click here to complete our court-ordered interest form.
